Wilbur never forgot Charlotte. Although he loved her children and grandchildren dearly, none of the new spiders quite took her place in his heart. She was in a class by herself. It is not often that someone comes along who is a true friend and a good writer. Charlotte was both. -Charlotte's Web

Fiona was singing Old MacDonald and every time she got to , "And on that farm he had a..." she would pause until Dave or I yelled out an animal. We started out with easy ones like cow and chicken but...well lets be honest Dave and I are kinda evil so we started trying to throw her off by naming animals that don't make sounds. I thought I had her when I said "bunny" but she came back immediately with, "with a hop hop here and a hop hop there." I must admit I was impressed. But it was the following that made me admit defeat.

Fiona: And on that farm he had a ......

Me: Spider!

Fiona: Noooooo.

Me: Oh yeah! There are spiders on farms.

Fiona: No there aren't.

Me: Oh yes there are I know from Charlotte's Web.

Fiona: Uuuuuuugh! FINE! With a squish squish here and a squish squish there....

And that's when I gave her a high five.

Little Fiona got a real bug education here. I think she saw more bugs her first day then she ever had in her life. Thankfully, outdoor bugs.
