Mystery is at the heart of creativity. That, and surprise.-Julia Cameron

I started reading this just out of curiosity. A.A. Milne is of coarse better known for the stories he wrote about his son and his stuffed bear. Of coarse I love those but I also like mysteries so I thought I'd give it a shot.

It's similar in style to Agatha Christie or Dorothy L. Sayers both of whom I like A LOT. Most of the way through I started to be disappointed because I was pretty sure I'd figured out not only who dun it but how. I'm not one of those people who solves the mystery before the end, sometimes I guess the who or have an inkling about how but that's it. So I was pleasantly surprised by a twist just pages from the end. I had guessed who and part of how but it turned out the how I guessed was a red herring. Plenty of people are more clever than I am at figuring out mysteries so maybe they'd be disappointed but I thought it was fun.

Do I think you should run out and read it? Maybe not. But if you like mysteries or feel curious to read a murder mystery from an unexpected source it's worth picking up.
